The textile and clothing industry is undergoing significant changes in development, integrating and innovating the entire supply chain from raw materials, production, sales to transportation. Under the influence of policies such as dual carbon, the sustainability of products at each stage has become particularly important. At the same time, with the continuous deepening of environmental protection concepts, consumers and manufacturing end are rushing towards environmental protection and carbon reduction in both directions. This report is inspired by the actions taken by the textile and clothing industry to respond to environmental trends, and identifies three hot directions that can be paid attention to in the field of biological environmental protection for Spring/Summer 25 fabrics. Based on the latest technological interpretation, targeted development strategies are proposed.
Driven by global carbon reduction actions, in recent years, it has become a trend and consensus to promote green economic growth and climate goals through the development of circular economy. The circular economy of various countries has also shown different morphological characteristics. In this context, the rise of sustainable fashion has promoted the transformation of the fashion industry towards a circular economy model through policies, industries, and consumption, while also providing important support and role in achieving the goal of dual carbon construction. Realizing recycling is not just about fiber recycling. It requires a thorough re conception of the clothing lifecycle - from design to fibers, textiles, and scrap - to create a fashion economy that covers the entire product lifecycle.
Jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, and Ministry of Industry and Information TechnologyImplementation Opinions on Accelerating the Recycling of Waste Textiles. By 2025, a preliminary system for the recycling of waste textiles will be established, with significantly improved recycling capacity. The recycling rate of waste textiles will reach 25%, and the production of recycled fibers from waste textiles will reach 2 million tons. By 2030, a relatively complete waste textile recycling system will be established, and producers and consumers' awareness of recycling will significantly increase. The ways of high-value utilization will continue to expand, and the level of industrial development will significantly improve. The recycling rate of waste textiles will reach 30%, and the production of regenerated fibers from waste textiles will reach 3 million tons.
From three aspects of production, recycling, and comprehensive utilization, 9 specific measures have been determined, including promoting green design of textiles, encouraging the use of green fibers, strengthening the social responsibility of textile producers, improving recycling networks, expanding recycling channels, strengthening recycling management, standardizing reuse, promoting the development of recycling industries, and implementing key breakthroughs in standard clothing.
On March 30, 2022, the European Green Agreement proposal was releasedEU Sustainable and Circular Textile StrategyThe proposal not only fulfills the commitments made in the New Circular Economy Action Plan and Industry Strategy, but also presents a vision and specific action plans to ensure that textiles placed in the EU market have a long lifespan and recyclability by 2030.
-The European Commission has expressed its intention to addressWaste Framework Directive (SCIP)The amendment focuses on textile waste. The proposal calls for the introduction of an EPR policy, which requires brand owners to be responsible for the production waste of clothing products.
-ECOYSTEXA new organization (European Community of Sustainable Textile Ecosystem Practices) has been launched to coordinate research and investment projects funded by the European Union, making the European textile industry more sustainable and circular.
