On June 17, 2019, Beijing time, Fendi's S/S 2020 En Plein is released in Milan Royal Garden. This is the first time Fendi had held an outdoor show. Models walked alongside the pond, and attendees were under the trees. Silvia Venturini Fendi also invited Luca Guadagnino as the special artist. Green, beige and brown are key for the collection with the garden style and functionality.
Avocado green covers a large color range, and it is between mustard and green. It shows a premium and vague aesthetic. As a key tone, avocado green adds a soft, quiet and spring-inspired quality.
Many kinds of fur and leather are used, and they are combined with textile fabrics, technical fabrics and denim. Avocado green is often combined with suede. Large silhouettes play a key role, and key items include the leisure jacket and multi-pocket cargo outerwear. The cutout craft on leather , geometric patterns and lattice are appealing. The lightweight fur is combined to add a fashionable and natural feel.
Cargo garments are key this season, such as all-in-one, cargo outerwear and khaki cargo pants, polo shirts and fisherman vests. The jacket with multiple pockets is practical; the hidden zipper in the detachable pocket is appealing; The front attached piece and elasticated cuffs have a sense of nature. The leather piping, patchwork design and cutout leather embellishments add interest.
Luca Guadagnino designed Botanics of FENDI including Fendi's logo and Pequin stripes. The kimono-like geometric patterns add a painting-like soft tactility to natural and cosy fabrics.
The two layers of lattice and cutout mesh are special this season. In addition to fresh cutout, cracks and openings are applied to loose silhouettes. Leather and fur are combined to add a lightweight and fresh touch. Fendi's rustic and fresh color combinations with the woven effect and natural and cosy fabrics enliven this summer.
The silk piping on the suit and trench coat is delicate and light. Leather trims in different colors and fur decorative lines are refreshing and natural, in line with the garden theme. Piping appears on the edges of pockets and shoulder lines.
Fendi's bags and accessories are all in line with the theme. Peekaboo and Baguette handbags are in many versions. The watering pot-and garden basket-style handbags are eye-catching. FENDI collaborated with Moonstar to design high shoes, sneakers and woven straw hats.
Lots of celebrities attended this show: Sasaki Yoshizumi, Sarah Snyder, Rob Raco, Caro Daur, Luca Guadagnino, Tommy Dorfman, Damien Chapelle, Alex Pettyfer.
